Road-rage case: ATA frames charges against former minister’s son, others
The court has summoned prosecution witnesses by July 7 while the accused persons have denied all charges

An anti-terrorism court has framed charges against five accused including Mustafa Kanju, son of former state minister for foreign affairs Sadique Kanju, who was allegedly involved in the killing of a youth and badly injuring another.
On Tuesday the police produced the accused Mustafa Kanju, his guards accused Ikram Ullah, Asif, Saad and Sadiq before ATC court amid tight security. The court has summoned prosecution witnesses by July 7 while the accused persons have denied all charges. Counsel for the accused had submitted that it is not a case of 7ATA and prayed that said sections be removed from the charge-sheet.

Earlier, on April 1, 2015 Mustafa Kanju’s car collided with another after which a fiery argument ensued. Kanju, allegedly intoxicated at the time, opened indiscriminate fire, as a result of which Zain, a passerby and student of class nine, was killed while another youth Husnain was injured and is stated to be in critical condition.
