G-B Assembly approves Rs35.92b budget for fiscal year 2015-16
Federal govt to release Rs4 billion from the previous budget which will be utilised for development projects

The newly formed Gilgit Baltistan Legislative Assembly on Tuesday unanimously approved a budget of Rs35.92 billion for the fiscal year 2015-16 , Radio Pakistan reported.
The budget allocated Rs21.98 billion for non-development expenditure, whereas a mere Rs13.94 billion were allotted for development projects in the region.
Winding up debate in the house, new G-B Chief Minister Hafeezur Rehman said that the federal government had released a Rs4 billion installment from the previous budget which will be utilised for development expenditures in the upcoming fiscal year.

He appreciated the suggestion from members on both sides of the aisle, and assured them that a parliamentary committee would be formed to accommodate their views.
Earlier on Sunday, Rehman had presented a Rs31.921 billion budget in the legislative assembly.
