Under Fire: Councillor, brother assassinated
Police registered a case against the unidentified attackers

A village councillor and his brother were assassinated while his son was critically injured when unidentified assailants ambushed them in Panjhol Shinkiari village on Tuesday. The deceased councillor’s son Abrar told the police he was on his way to a neighbouring village with his father Qari Zarin Shakir and uncle Mian Khan when five armed men with pistols and AK-47 rifles opened fire on them. His father Shakir, a general councillor from Panjhol village council, and his brother Mian Khan died on the spot. Police registered a case against the unidentified attackers, and termed the murders a result of an old family feud.
