Road networks to be completed this year under CPEC: Ahsan Iqbal

Planning minister says development of road infrastructure in Balochistan will usher a new era of prosperity

Minister for Planning and development Ahsan Iqbal on Tuesday reaffirmed that the government's top priority is to develop the roads and underdeveloped areas of Pakistan.  

“The priority of the government is to develop the less developed areas including Balochistan,” he said.

Iqbal was addressing about progress on the M-8 and N-85 road networks in Balochistan.

“Road networks would be completed by December 2015 under China-Pakistan Economic Cooridoor (CPEC) project,” he said.

“The government has already declared special force comprising 10,000 personnel for security of Chinese workers engaged in executing CPEC projects,” said the minister.

“The development of road infrastructure in Balochistan will usher in a new era of prosperity in the province,” he said.
