RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has decided to grant Rs15,000 in allowance to assistant education officers (AEOs) across the province. An official of the Rawalpindi Education Department said the new allowance would likely be paid after the summer  vacations. He added that the incentive was being given to encourage the AEOs to play their role in improving education standard at government schools and ensuring 100 per cent attendance. The provincial education secretary schools had already given approval to the grant, which would be clubbed into annual salaries along with other increments that were announced in the current budget, he informed. “All the AEOs will be bound to ensure 100 per cent attendance at schools besides working for new enrolments,” he said, while taking about the new incentive.
