JUI separation may break govt: PML-F

Khursheed Afghan says if Fazlur Rehman sticks to his decision to separate, then the government may collapse.

SUKKUR: Leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional Khursheed Afghan said that if Maulana Fazlur Rehman sticks to his decision to separate from the coalition, then the government may collapse. However, President Asif Ali Zardari is secure and this in-house change will not harm his position, she added.

Afghan said that JUI’s separation is a threat to the cabinet. “The government was fighting for its survival by holding talks with the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid which will not support the Pakistan Peoples Party until its demands are met,” she said.  “Dr Zulfiqar Mirza was asked to malign the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). Despite this, the MQM will not announce its separation from the coalition.”
