Two alleged dacoits were killed while another two were injured and arrested in an encounter with the police within the limits of the Bagarji and Sadhuja police stations on Saturday.


According to the law enforcers, the Bagarji police were on a routine patrol at midnight when they encountered the group of a most wanted dacoit, Imdad Bullo. The dacoits opened fire on the police and Imdad was killed in the retaliatory fire while his accomplices escaped. When informed, Sukkur SSP rushed to the scene along with a heavy contingent and chased the dacoits in the dense forest.

On the other hand, another encounter took place with alleged criminals in Sadhuja, the katcha area of Sukkur. After fierce gun-battle, the police managed to kill a wanted dacoit, Abdul Wahab Jagirani, and arrested his two accomplices, Muhabat Bullo and Rab Nawaz alias Raboo Bullo, in an injured condition. The police have also recovered an official gun from their possession, which was snatched from a policeman of the Dadloi police station. Besides this, a Kalashnikov rifle and bullets were recovered from their possession.

Police officials said that Imdad was wanted by the police in more than 40 cases of crime, including murder, kidnapping for ransom and robberies, while Jagirani was wanted in 25 such cases.
