Bad Deal: Man issued notice over defective mobile

A consumer court issued notice to a proprietor of a shop on Tuesday in a Rs100,000 suit filed against him for selling the petitioner a defective cell-phone. Muhammad Ameen told the court he had purchased a cell-phone from Muhammad Arshad two months ago. He said Arshad had told him that he would be responsible for any fault in the handset. He said the device had stopped working properly a few days after the purchase. He said Arshad had refused to repair or replace the handset.
