RAWALPINDI: The police’s special branch in a report has termed encroachments in areas around schools and colleges a security threat. The agency sent its report to the regional police officer (RPO) about encroachments adjacent to schools, colleges and other educational institutes located in different parts of the city. The report specifically says that tyre and poultry shops and other vendors have illegally established stalls near many institutes, creating problems in the movement of students and staff. The students  have to wrestle through the encroachments to reach their schools, while many vendors have occupied footpaths outside schools and colleges. The wheel-barrows, stalls and kiosks near the education institutes could be used by saboteurs to carry out disruptive activities.
