Trade deals likely with Thailand, Turkmenistan

Pakistan decides to initiate talks, sign agreements to promote bilateral economic relations with two countries.

ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan has decided to sign bilateral trade agreements with Turkmenistan and Thailand in a bid to promote bilateral economic relations with the two countries. Officials from the ministry of commerce have said that Pakistan has decided to initiate talks for new agreements with the two countries.

The balance of trade between Pakistan and Thailand currently favours the latter, as imports from Thailand total $580 million while exports are only at $80 million.


Trade with Turkmenistan is relatively low but the balance of trade is still in favour of Turkmenistan with imports at $9.8 million and exports of only $0.7 million, according to official data.
