LAHORE: A petition seeking a ban on unregistered non-government organisations in the country was filed in the Lahore Registry of the Supreme Court on Friday. Barrister Zafarullah, chairman of the Watan Party, filed the petition saying that over 100,000 unregistered NGOs were operating in the country. He said these NGOs took funds from foreign countries and were propagating their agenda in Pakistan. He requested the Supreme Court to ban the NGOs immediately and freeze their bank accounts.
