Seaside picnic ends in heartbreak
Teen swept away by powerful tides at Port Qasim

A day meant for laughter and leisure by the sea turned into a devastating trag-edy in the city, as a teenage boy was swept away by powerful waves during a picnic, while two other bodies were recovered from different parts of Karachi under mysterious circumstances.
According to police, the incident occurred near the Hasan Shah shrine in the Port Qasim area, where 17-year-old Saif, son of Amir Hussain, drowned while bathing in the sea. Rescue teams and volunteers rushed to the scene upon re-ceiving the alert and managed to retrieve the body shortly afterward. It was transported to Jinnah Hospital via ambulance.
Station House Officer Faisal Rafique stated that the boy was a resident of a nearby village. In a heart-wrenching account, the victim's father told police that he had been bathing alongside his son when sudden, dangerous waves struck.
"I was holding his hand, but he said he was fine. The moment I let go, the ruthless waves took him away," he said.
After completing legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family.
