MUMBAI: Actor Shruti Haasan, who recently wrapped up shooting for Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Yaara, said she feels fortunate to work with the acclaimed filmmaker. “It has been wonderful working with Tigmanshu sir. I’m happy he gave me such a great role to play. I’m lucky to work with him so early in my career,” she stated.

Tigmanshu has also acted in films and Shruti feels that is a bonus for him as a director. “Since he’s such a fine actor, he understands both mediums really well. So, he can put across his vision better. Acting according to those instructions was challenging but fun,” she added.

Shruti has mixed feelings about the conclusion of the film’s shoot. “I feel sad that the journey has ended. It has been wonderful working on Yaara and playing a beautiful role,” she shared. Yaara, a friendship drama, also stars Vidyut Jamwal and Amit Sadh in lead roles. Shruti’s last venture, the Akshay Kumar-starrer Gabbar is Back, was a success at the box-office.

In other news, Shruti, daughter of acclaimed actor Kamal Haasan, said working with him would be “an honour” for her. “Hopefully, we can work together in the future. But it has to be something that’d be good for both of us. It’d be an honour to work with my father,” she said. Although the father-daughter duo hasn’t acted together in a film, Shruti made a cameo appearance in Kamal’s Hey Ram. As a child, she sang for her father’s movie Chachi 420.

On the brand endorsement front, Shruti on Tuesday showcased the new collection of fashion label Haute Curry in Mumbai, which offers kurtis, shalwar kameez and dupattas, as well as a range of accessories.
