FAISALABAD:

Police said on Tuesday that a man had committed suicide in Jhang Bazaar area after being reproached by his father for making long mobile phone calls to his friends.

The Jhang Bazaar SHO told The Express Tribune that 22-year-old Saqib Ali, a resident of Bansan Wali Street, was speaking with friends on his mobile phone when Ali Hasnain, the father of the deceased, asked him to do some chores. The SHO said an infuriated Hasnain had prohibited Ali from making long calls to his friends after he failed to respond to his father’s request. The official said Ali had shot himself after being admonished by his father.

The SHO said a police team had arrived at the spot in the wake of the development and sent the body to a mortuary for autopsy. The official said the body had been handed over to the family of the deceased for burial following the completion of formalities.
