Model Town riots PAT to rally in 10 cities against JIT report

The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) announced on Saturday the party would hold protest demonstrations in 10 cities on Sunday (today) against a joint investigation team’s report on Model Town riots last year. The demonstrations would be held in Islamabad, Abbottabad, Dera Ismail Khan, Ghotki, Hyderabad, Karachi, Larkana, Quetta, Sibi and Dera Allahyar.


The PAT Executive Council meeting was chaired by party president Raheeq Ahmed Abbasi. The meeting also reviewed arrangements for the June 16 party meeting. PAT chief Tahirul Qadri will address the meeting via video link from Canada. Participants of the meeting declared the provincial budget anti-poor. “Expenditures of the Chief Minister’s House have been increased by 204 per cent,” PAT leader Basharat Jaspal said.


The PAT leaders paid tributes to Pakistan Army on the completion of a year of Operation Zarb-i-Azb.
