Although the previous conferences saw Humaira and Ahmed hurling allegations of domestic violence and theft upon one another, the last one brought the couple back together. Their four-year-old son, Ali Mutaqeen, was also present at the joyous event, held at the Lahore Press Club on Friday.
“What happened between us was a mistake. I take full responsibility for my actions and have apologised for everything I said earlier,” claimed Ahmed. He attributed the entire episode to unnamed friends and relatives who allegedly drove a wedge between him and his wife, eventually tearing them apart. “I was extremely upset after separating from her but now, we have learnt our lesson,” he added. “All domestic disputes regarding properties and other business matters have been settled. Humaira and I reject everything we said or did during the problematic period in our marriage. She is still my wife and I promise we will not split up again.”
Humaira also put in her two cents, saying, “For the sake of our son, Ahmed and I have decided to forget about all of our troubles and converted our clashes in to love.” She expressed her gratitude towards her well-wishers for helping her pull through and get back on her feet. “My parents and some others stepped in and made us realise that Ahmed and I should prioritise the future of our child,” she added.
The happy couple closed the press conference by exchanging sweetmeats with one another, as well as all of the friends, relatives and media professionals present at the venue. Humaira also pitched in a special performance of her popular number, Wus Way Dhola Akhiyaan Dy Kol Kol.
