KARACHI:
Authorities at the Karachi Airport arrested a French national on Friday for allegedly carrying bullets.

According to Airport police officials, De Miscault was traveling from Karachi to Istanbul via Turkish airline Tk-709 when he was intercepted by Airport Security Force (ASF).

During manual checking, ASF staff recovered five bullets of .22 caliber from his possession.

The accused was later handed over to Airport police station where police registered an FIR No. 90/15 Under Section 23 (1) while further investigation was underway.

The move comes a day after officials from Lahore's Airport Security Force (ASF) said on Thursday that they had detained five Thai nationals for trying to board a plane with a pistol and ammunition.

A handgun and bullets were found in the Thais’ luggage as they checked for a Thai Airways flight at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore on Monday, they said.
