A man threw acid on a woman in Nawankot on Friday for not befriending him. According to a witness, Faiza*, 38, lives in Shah Farid Colony with her three sons. Her husband lives in Muscat. He said a man from the same locality had been harassing her for the last few months. He said she had scolded him a few days ago. “On Friday, he went to her home and threw acid on her,” said the witness who did not want to be named. Sub Inspector Liaqaut Ali told The Express Tribune the woman was alone at her home when she was attacked. “The attacker introduced himself as a postman. When she opened the door he attacked her and fled.” He said she had been taken to Mayo Hospital.
