At least one person was killed, while four others were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded near the main gate of the Pak-Aghan border in Torkham, Khyber Agency, officials said.

As a result, five people, including two khasadar officials, sustained injuries and were shifted to the Landikotal hospital, where one of them, a passer-by, succumbed to his injuries, said the official.
The border was closed for a few hours after the incident but reopened late under tight security.
Just yesterday, a blast in Peshawar’s Hayatabad area left two police officials dead and five others injured.
