Safe driving: ICP launches awareness campaign

These squads will perform duties at various main roads of the city

ISLAMABAD:
Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Thursday launched an awareness campaign for safety of motorcyclists to ensure safe driving for them on roads. The campaign was formally inaugurated by SSP (Traffic) Malik Matloob Ahmed here at Garden Avenue. It has been launched by ITP in collaboration with Atlas Honda and to be continued till June 17. Special squads have been constituted to educate bike riders as how to ensure their safety before travelling on roads. These squads will perform duties at various main roads of the city and to brief the motorcyclists about safe journey. Motorcyclists driving the bikes without helmets and side mirrors or having defective indicators, headlights, rear lights and speed meters be educated and to be appealed to get faulty parts repaired. Teams have been constituted to educate the bike riders about safe drive which would perform duties at various points of the city including Garden Avenue, F-8 Exchange Road, Karachi Company, Tarnol, Bhara Kahu, Aabpara Chowk and Islamabad Chowk.
