PESHAWAR: Another 218 FIRs were registered on Thursday against those who attested documents of Afghan refugees and helped them obtain CNICs. Cases have been registered in Pandhu, Michni Gate, Hashtnagri and two other police stations in the provincial capital. A day earlier, over 210 FIRs were registered against such officials. These cases were registered after National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) shared names of government servants, politicians and former nazims who had attested the documents with the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police last week. All FIRs have been registered under the NADRA Ordinance 2000. Earlier on Tuesday, K-P police issued directives to immediately arrest those officials involved in issuing fake CNICs. All regional and divisional police officers were asked to contact NADRA and obtain a list of people who were involved in this practice so that an action could be taken against the culprits.
