LG controversy: Every party has blood on its hands: MPA Elahi

PTI leader says govt ready for re-polling, will sweep elections again

PESHAWAR:
Parliamentary secretary on environment and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Fazal Elahi said all parties have blood on their hands as far as rigging local government polls in concerned.

Talking to the media at Peshawar Press Club on Thursday, Elahi said the government is ready for re-polls and the ruling party will once again sweep elections across the province.

Referring to the tripartite alliance’s strike on Wednesday, he said, “People showed little interest in the show put up by three opposition parties on Wednesday.”

“PTI did in two years what governments couldn’t manage in 67,” he maintained. The MPA said the province will be completely free of corruption and nepotism by the time the incumbent government’s tenure ends. Elahi said actual grass root devolution will take place once the LG system is in place, “then people will see real change”.

He added, “The government is taking the timber mafia to task and will soon put an end to deforestation and the illegal trade of timber.”
