Law and order: Govt’s reply sought in plea against cops with criminal record
Policemen involved in Daska killings found to be involved in criminal activities.
LAHORE:
Justice Ijazul Ahsan of the Lahore High Court on Wednesday sought the government’s response to a petition seeking the removal from service of those policemen who had been found involved in criminal activities.
Petitioner Safdar Shaheen Pirzada also sought departmental action against such officials.
He said the Police Department had information about criminal activities of its several employees.
He said that such police officials were responsible for the poor law and order in the province.
The petitioner said that the SHO involved in the recent killing of two lawyers in Daska had also apparently been found involved in criminal activities.
Pirzada requested that such officials should immediately be removed from service and legal proceeding initiated against them.
The government was given four weeks to respond to the petition.
