K-p opposition protest: Govt asks LEAs to protect protestors

K-P govt issues directions to law enforcement agencies to make necessary arrangements for the safety of protesters

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government has issued directions to law enforcement agencies to make necessary arrangements for the safety of protesters and keep an eye on miscreants during the protest and strike called by the three-party alliance on 10 June.  A handout issued by the press secretary to the CM K-P Pervaiz Khattak reads that the instructions were issued by a high-level meeting held on Tuesday chaired by the CM to review the law and order situation. The meeting was attended by provincial ministers Ziaullah Afridi and Shehram Tarakai,  PTI Provincial Secretary Information Shaukat Yousafzai, Chief Secretary K-P,Inspector General Police, Provincial Interior Secretary, respective DIGs, CCPO Peshawar, chiefs of the civil intelligence agencies and other relevant officers.  The meeting was told the chance of acts of terrorism during the protest called by the opposition cannot be ruled out and the LEAs will have to be on high alert.
