Security review: Clear illegal slums: Nisar

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has directed ICT administration, CDA, NADRA and ICT Police to chalk out an integrated and comprehensive strategy to secure Islamabad, said a press release. He said that with the launch of the metro bus, all departments need to gear up security efforts. He directed the administration to implement court orders regarding clearing of illegal settlements in the city. The police were directed to focus on preemptive policing and effective response. The minister also directed that a three-pronged security strategy for the local government elections be devised and implemented. The elections are scheduled to be held on July 27.
