An arty affair: Annual thesis exhibition held at UoP

All great art must be celebrated and shared with the world

PESHAWAR:
Creativity was in the air. Students of the Department of Art and Design at University of Peshawar showcased their artwork at the two-day annual thesis exhibition on Tuesday. Around 20 theses were part of the exhibition, displaying different techniques such as abstract painting, and products of communication and textile design. Students portrayed different themes in their work, like the scenic beauty of Gilgit-Baltistan, aesthetics of Islamic metal work and Chinese tattoos. UoP Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Rasul Jan was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. He met with the students and appreciated their work, saying, “All great art must be celebrated and shared with the world, and the department is doing a good job in helping students hone their skills.” A display centre would soon be established so as to help students showcase their creativity to business owners, entrepreneurs, and other interested organisations, he added. The department of art and design chairman said UoP is committed to transform talented and dedicated students into multidimensional professionals equipped with skills needed to succeed in a world that continues to change and challenge.
