The provincial government has directed the relevant examination boards to take action against private schools which are collecting fees for summer vacation in advance.


According to a handout issued on Tuesday, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan had received a large number of complaints against private school owners who were collecting the fees in advance.



“The chief minister has asked examination boards to take notice of this issue and cancel the registration of any schools which are involved in this practice,” it read.


The handout added, “A well-placed official in an examination board in the provincial capital said the administration of private schools collects fee for summer holidays in advance.


It added the school administrations in some areas has refused to give students vacations if the fees are not paid in advance.


According to the
official, Lahore High Court had declared the practice of collecting fees during summer holidays illegal in May.
