ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday sought a reply from the Interior Ministry in a petition against recruitments in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) by previous regimes.

The single-member bench comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui resumed hearing of the case based on a petition filed by FIA Assistant Director Bilal Aslam Khan and 11 other officers.

During the course of proceeding, the petitioner’s counsel Khawar Amin Bukhari said several FIA officials serving on key posts were recruited on political basis without any exam.

He argued that officers of BPS-16 and BPS-17 ought to be recruited through the exam of Federal Public Service Commission in accordance with the law.

After hearing the arguments, the court sought a reply from the Interior Minister and Director General FIA and adjourned hearing of the case for indefinite period.
