A magistrate on Sunday remanded a farmer, accused of killing a 13-year-old over playing cricket on his land, in police custody for three days.
According to Choti police, farmer Allah Bakhsh, had killed 13-year-old Waqas after hitting with a brick. Police said he had forbidden boys living from playing on his land. They said on May 17, he spotted some boys playing cricket there. Police said Bakhsh tried to run them over with his tractor. Most of the boys fled, but Waqas fell and was injured. Police said Bakhsh threw a brick at Waqas. They said the boy fainted. Bakhsh then drove home. They said some boys told the boy’s uncles about his injury. They took Waqas to a hospital in Multan where he died. Police had registered a case. Baksh had secured pre-arrest bail till June 6. On Sunday, the magistrate ordered police to arrest him.
