Swift action : NAB returns Rs4m to Iranian company

The bureau’s provincial director general handed over the cheque to Iranian Consul General Syed Hassan Yahyavi

ISLAMABAD:
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has handed over a Rs4.06 million cheque to the Iranian Consul General in Balochistan. The amount was recovered from Khalid Aziz, proprietor of MYKAB, a Pakistani company which cheated an Iranian company and also caused loss of over Rs3.4 million to national exchequer. The bureau’s provincial director general handed over the cheque to Iranian Consul General Syed Hassan Yahyavi during a ceremony, said a press release issued on Sunday. After an investigation, NAB recovered the amount from the accused and filed a reference in an accountability court which is under trial. Besides, NAB recovered Rs3.4 million from the accused and deposited it in the government exchequer. The Iranian consul general commended the efforts of NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry and DG NAB Balochistan for recovery of the looted amount.
