A consumer court issued a notice to the proprietor of a furniture shop on Friday in a Rs300,000 suit. Ameen told the court he had purchased furniture for Rs200,000 from a showroom in Shahdara. He said the proprietor had assured him that he would be responsible for any defects in the furniture. Ameen said later some cracks developed. He said the shop owner had refused to replace the furniture. He said the respondent should pay Rs300,000 in damages.
