Rs1.5b earmarked for law, justice, human rights division
Up to Rs1.3 billion has been approved for ongoing schemes

The federal government has allocated Rs1.5 billion for the law, justice and human rights division under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the year 2015-16.
Up to Rs1.3 billion has been approved for ongoing schemes while another Rs184.3 million has been earmarked for new schemes.
The budgetary fund for ongoing schemes include the construction of bachelor accommodation for court staff of the Supreme Court (SC) registry branch building, Lahore Rs20.5 million; construction of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), Islamabad Rs738.5 million; establishment of a helpline for legal advice on human rights, Islamabad Rs31.6 million; federal programme under Access to Justice Programme (all over the country) Rs500 million; and for provision of a museum and up-gradation of courtyard at the SC Rs25.11 million.
Acquisition of land for a new scheme for extension of the IHC Rs65.3 million; construction of residence of judges’ registrars, officer/official residences of the IHC, Islamabad (land acquisition) Rs10 million; and construction of a sessions court division, east of the IHC, Islamabad (acquisition of land) is Rs108.9 million.
Federal authorities have also granted Rs1.3 billion non-development budget for the SC. The break-up of the allocation includes: employees related expenses Rs994.1 million, salaries Rs252.9 million, pay of officers Rs190.2 million, pay of other staff Rs62.8 million, allowances Rs741.02 million, regular allowances Rs514.9 million, other allowances Rs226.06 million excluding transport allowance, operating expenses Rs204.0 million, employees retirement benefits Rs55 million, transfers Rs4 million, physical assets Rs25 million, and repair and maintenance Rs20.3 million.
Similarly, the government has allocated Rs449 million non-development budget for Islamabad High Court in 2015-16 against the outgoing fiscal year’s revised estimate of Rs414.6 million.
