Govinda’s daughter debuts in Bollywood with 'Second Hand Husband'

Narmadaa to continue her father's legacy in her own way

Bollywood comedy icon, Govinda’s daughter, Narmadaa has launched herself as Tina Ahuja in upcoming Bollywood romcom Second Hand Husband.

Screen names are no new thing in B-Town but it is commonly believed that having a different screen name has everything to do with numerology. Interestingly, this is not the case with Narmadaa aka Tina.

According to Times of India, a close friend of the debutante confirmed that saying, “Tina happens to be Narmmadaa's nickname. We (her close friends) address her as Tina for a couple of years now. So when it came to her acting debut, we thought her nickname sounded way cooler. Since she is young, Tina embodies her personality better, which is why the decision."

Tina was initially rumoured to debut in Salman Khan’s Dabbangg and it did not come as a surprise as both Govinda and Salman share a close friendship on-screen as well as off-screen. But these rumors had no truth to them and were denied by Tina, as reported by Bollywood Life.

Daddy Govinda is elated that his daughter is starting her career working with Dharmendra, with whom he happens to share a special bond.

“Tina will be making a debut with respected Dharmendra ji, nothing could have got better than this,” said Govinda in an interview with Pinkvilla.

The film has not yet released but masses have already built expectations for Tina anticipating if she has acquired the comic genes and dance moves of Chi Chi.

On the other hand, Tina was prepared that she would be compared to her father but she does not wish to emulate him. She is hopeful to build her own individuality and be admired for it.

The 26-year-old debutante will be co-starring with Punjabi singer/actor, Gippy Grewal who has acted in 10 consecutive Punjabi blockbusters and also has the song Angrezi Beat from the movie, Cocktail, as his claim to fame.

Second Hand Husband is directed by Smeep Kang and produced by Gakhal Brothers Entertainment Pvt Ltd. Apart from veteran actor Dharmendra, the film also features Rati Agnihotri, Ravi Kishen, Geeta Basra, Sanjay Mishra and Vijay Raaz. It is set to release on July 3.
