The paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) has booked four militants of banned outfits – including the alleged mastermind of the abortive bomb attack on President Mamnoon Hussain son’s convoy – in separate search operations in two districts of Balochistan.

According to the FC, two key militants of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) were detained in the industrial town of Hub on Wednesday.  One of them, identified as Surat Jan Marri, had masterminded the May 24 bomb attack on the convoy of Salman Mamnoon in Hub in which three people were killed.

“After an exchange of fire, FC troops arrested two militants belonging to a banned organisation and recovered arms from their possession,” spokesman for the paramilitary force said. “The two were also involved in attacks on security forces and targeted killings.”

Separately, the FC detained two alleged commanders of the proscribed Baloch Liberation Front in the Pasni area of Gwadar. Hand-grenades and other weapons were also recovered from their possession.
