A consumer court on Wednesday issued a notice to the owner of a mobile phone shop for selling a defective phone. Petitioner Yasir Haidar has sought Rs50,000 damages from the owner of Al Fateh mobiles, located at Hall Road. Haider said that he had purchased a mobile phone given the assurance that the respondent would be responsible for any fault in it. “After a few days, the phone started malfunctioning. I approached the respondent, who refused to replace it,” he said.
