KPT emerge winners against PEL

Other two matches in football league drawn.

KARACHI: Karachi Port Trust (KPT) defeated Pakistan Elektron Limited (Pel) 2-0 in the Pakistan Premier League while Karachi Electricity Supply Corporation (KESC) drew against Pakistan Navy 1-1, and Pakistan Air Force (PAF) drew 2-2 with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

Muhammad bin Younus scored against Pel in the eighth minute of the match as KPT led 1-0 at the interval. KPT dominated the second half as well when Shahid Salim doubled the lead in the 50th minute which proved enough for the win.

With the win, KPT are now sixth in the league with 44 points while Pel sit 10th with 37.

Meanwhile, KESC failed in a must-win match to retain their second spot in the league when they fell behind in the 29th minute via Bilal Afridi’s goal.

Navy’s Muhammad Essa scored the equaliser in the 52nd minute.

In the other match of the day, Hasnain Abbas and Shakir Lashari scored for PIA in the 31st and 59th minute, while PAF replied through Arif Nawaz and Erfan Ali’s goals in the 50th and 89th minute. PIA climbed to fourth with 49 points while PAF stand ninth with 37 points.
