Mastung bus attack: FIR registered against members of banned outfit

As many as 20 passengers were lined up and executed after being pulled off two buses in Mastung last week

QUETTA: An FIR was registered on Monday against 12 men of a banned outfit including Zamuran Marri alias Miran Marri for the Mastung carnage at Kadhkocha Levies Thana Mastung.

According to the copy of the FIR available with The Express Tribune, the case was registered on the behalf of provincial government and contained sections 302, 324, 171, 365, and 427 Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Anti-Terrorism acts were added in the FIR.

While referring to a report appearing in a local newspaper, wherein the banned United Baloch (UBA) had claimed responsibility for the attack, cases were registered against Zamuran Marri alias Miran Marri, Abdul Nabi Bangulzai, Sher Alam Marri, Sarfraz Bangulzai, Qadir Marri, Shah Baksh, Nisar, Mohammed Hussain and four others.

In a grisly execution-style attack on Friday, 20 passengers were lined up and shot dead after being pulled off two buses in Balochistan’s Mastung district.

Coming from the Pashtun-dominated area of Pishin, the two Karachi-bound buses were intercepted and stopped in Gidrang, Kadocha in Mastung district by as many as 40 gunmen at around 8:00pm, according to security forces and Balochistan home department officials.

Following the attack, security forces launched a search operation in the area and have so far reportedly killed seven suspected militants.
