The Rawal Town Municipal Administration (TMA) has issued notices to all rent defaulters to pay their dues till June 5, following which their shops will be sealed.

TMA has launched a special campaign to recover outstanding dues from tenants running their business in shops owned by TMA.

According to a TMA spokesman, it has been decided to seal shops of all defaulters on June 6. Taxation Officer Ulfat Shehzad has been directed to take strict action against defaulters if due payments are not cleared.

Town Municipal Officer Mir Akmal said strict action will be taken against defaulters, especially those not paying outstanding dues for several years.

He informed that under the ongoing recovery campaign, Rs50 million has been collected in May while special raids for the recovery of the remaining dues amounting to Rs10 million would be conducted on June 6.

The defaulters’ shops would be sealed and no relaxation would be given to anyone, he added.
