Govt to formally contact UAE over Axact scam: Nisar
Interior minister says FIR against Axact is not conclusive and would be finalised after more evidence is gathered

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar on Friday said the government will formally contact the United Arab Emirates regarding the Axact scandal 'in a day or two'.
For this purpose, the Federal Intelligence Agency (FIA) has sent us a letter, he said in a statement.
Nisar pointed that the First Information Report (FIR) registered against Axact was not conclusive and would be finalised after more evidence is reviewed.
“We have asked for cooperation from the British government," he said, adding that while the FIA is already in contact with Interpol, it has also sought legal assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of US.

Nisar also said that probe into the matter is underway at a face pace. He noted that a standard procedure was not undertaken in the registration of BOL.
Regarding the suspects Hammad Siddiqui and Uzair Baloch accused in different cases, he said ‘both are being monitored closely and have been kept under surveillance. “They will not be allowed to run away this time”, the interior minister said.

Commenting on the Karachi operation, Nisar said, "It takes time to establish calm in a city of around 20 million people and whatever that has been done so far is nothing short of a miracle. Terrorists have been isolated”, the interior minister said while criticising 'those raising questions on the ongoing operation’.
