Money laundering case: Ayyan’s remand extended till June 1
The court also expressed annoyance over investigation team’s inability to produce complete charge sheet
RAWALPINDI:
A banking court on Thursday extended model Ayyan Ali’s judicial remand till June 1 as she did not appeared before the court due to lawyers’ strike over Daska incident. The defence counsel informed the court that the suspect couldn’t appear due to lawyers’ strike. The court directed the parties to produce the suspect before the customs judge on next hearing. The court also expressed annoyance over investigation team’s inability to produce complete charge sheet. Custom’s prosecutor Muhammad Amin Feroz said that two suspects, Owais and Mumtaz, are still at large and steps are being taken for their arrest. He said a complete challan would be presented once they are arrested and their statements recorded. The court then adjourned the case till June 1.
