FAISALABAD:

Police on Thursday registered a case against a motorbike mechanic accused of beating an apprentice.

Farhan Khan, a resident of Sohailabad, told The Express Tribune that his six-year-old son Faizan had been working as an apprentice with motorbike mechanic Shehbaz at his workshop. He said boys at the workshop had told him that Faizan got late in bringing a wrench to the mechanic over which he started beating the boy with a stick. He said the mechanic also kicked and punched his son. He said his son had sought forgiveness but Shehbaz ignored him.

Khan said eventually his son fainted . He said some friends revived him and escorted him home.  “We took him to a hospital,” Khan said.  He said when he went to the workshop to complain about the incident, the mechanic misbehaved with him. He said he had moved a complaint at D-Type Colony police station.
