Province-wide: Encroachers to face ‘strict action’
The Sindh government has decided to expedite its anti-encroachment campaign across the province
KARACHI:
The Sindh government has decided to expedite its anti-encroachment campaign across the province with deputy commissioners in all districts exercising their authority under the anti-encroachment act. Senior member of the Sindh Board of Revenue, Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, said the district administration will be actively involved in combating encroachment on public property. Taking strong exception to the encroachment on state land of thousands of acres, particularly in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur and Larkana, the senior member said the loss worth billions of rupees to the exchequer will not be tolerated. Siddiqui said encroachment on public property amounts to challenging the writ of the state. "Hence, stern action has to be taken without any distinction against criminals engaged in illegal practice at the expense of the state," said Siddiqui.
