Delayed Again: Metro Bus to start up on June 6

The work in Islamabad is also being carried out at good pace and would be complete by May 28

ISLAMABAD:
The launch of the Metro Bus Service (MBS) of the twin cities has been delayed once again and June 6 is now the new date for the opening of the transport service. The development work of the project in Rawalpindi is complete whereas cleaning and revamping work is being done speedily, said MBS Chairman Hanif Abbasi while briefing Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on the project’s progress during a meeting here on Tuesday. The work in Islamabad is also being carried out at good pace and would be complete by May 28, he added. Abbasi requested the chief minister to extend the launch date to which he responded that the new date would be approved with consultation of other stakeholders.
