Following fatal attacks on at least three bloggers, Bangladesh has outlawed an group for their alleged involvement in their murders, BBC reported.

The group, Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) was banned on the recommendation of the police department, who said that initial investigation showed that the group had been involved in the murder of all three bloggers who had been killed using sharp weapons earlier this year.

The attacks had sparked a courtry-wide outcry amongst activists who accused the government of not taking appropriate actions against the perpetrators.

All three murders had numerous similarities in the way they were conducted. In each case, the attackers carried out their assaults on a busy street.

Recently, Bangladesh has witnessed many such attacks with the hard-liners specifically targeting those having secular views about Islam.

The first blogger to be killed - in February - was Bangladeshi-born US citizen Avijit Roy, who was hacked to death in the capital, Dhaka.

In March, another blogger, Washiqur Rahman, was also hacked to death in Dhaka.

Before ABT, five more militant groups have faced a similar faith.
