And the wait continues
Producers of ‘Moor’ clarify rumours surrounding the 14th August release of the film
KARACHI:
There has been a huge buzz surrounding Moor, since its trailer was released almost two years ago. With a release date yet to be announced for the movie, it is expected that the movie would release later this year. Sources close to The Express Tribune revealed that the film is all set to release on August 14, 2015. Even on social media, people associated with the film have been sharing Independence Day as a possible release date for the film.
When asked, Nadeem Mandviwalla, the producer of Moor, clarified the confusion surrounding the release of the movie. “There is no confirmed date for a release date for the film as of yet, but we would be announcing a final date around Eid-ul-Fitr.”Directed by Jami, the storyline for Moor is based on the closure of the Zhob Valley railways in 1984. The film shows how a family is affected by growing corruption in the system. Hameed Sheikh of Operation 021 fame plays the lead role in the film.
Regarding why he had chosen to make a film on a non-functional railway, he had replied that although there are many grave issues in the province of Balochistan, should he have made a film on any of those issues it would never have been cleared by the censor board. Jami had previously co-directed the spy-thriller Operation 021 alongside Summer Nicks which released in 2014 and has also worked extensively as a music video and television commercial director.
