KARACHI:
A key prosecution witness identified on Saturday two workers of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in a murder case.

The identification parade was conducted before the judicial magistrate VI of District East, Waseem Ahmed. The witness, who is also a serving police official, successfully identified both the accused, Naeem alias Guddu and Habib. They are accused of killing a police official, Zeeshan Akram, in May 2007.

The witness told the court that at the time of the incident, he was present at the site and had hidden himself behind a vehicle to save his life. When the accused had fled after shooting the victim, he had rushed Akram to the hospital.

After recording the statement, the judicial magistrate sealed the records and sent them to the trial court, the anti-terrorism court-I. The case was registered in the Saudabad Police Station.

Naeem alias Guddu and Habib are implicated in several other cases, including possession of illicit weapons and killings of political rivals.
