Troubled waters: Four boats seized from Rawal Lake
The official said the administration had imposed a ban on motorised boating
ISLAMABAD:
Assistant Commissioner (Secretariat) Waqas Rashid on Friday took action against motorised boating in Lake View Park and seized four boats. The raid was conducted after boat owners violated Section 144 imposed by the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration. The official said the administration had imposed a ban on motorised boating due to contamination of water which results from the emission of fuels used by these boats. The lake’s water is used for consumption by the residents of Rawalpindi. The official added that four boat owners were arrested by the Secretariat police after the raid was conducted and cases were registered.
