QUETTA:

Speakers at a seminar titled “GSP+ in Pakistan: Towards a Coordinated Implementation Strategy” urged the Balochistan government to design such policies that help increase the province’s exports to the European Union under the Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP) Plus mechanism.

In his speech at the seminar organised by Democracy Reporting International here on Thursday, Zulfiqar Shah, its representative, said in order to increase global economic cooperation, the EU introduced the GSP, a preferential import scheme which was currently a key feature of the EU trade policy.

Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry ex-president Niaz Muhammad Khan said Balochistan had no major contribution to national exports and added by adopting dynamic policies, exports of natural resources and seafood from the province could be increased.
