The only surviving lion in Rawalpindi kept at Lohi Bher Wildlife Park died along with two other animals due to lack of proper diet and extreme heat.
Park deputy director Anwar Aman rejected the allegations and said that investigations had been ordered into the deaths. The lion was born in the park and was over two years old.

An official of the park requesting not to be named said that the lion was being fed rotten meat for the last several days. “We informed the administrator of the park about the low-quality of the meat but he asked to continue feeding the same meat,” he said. The official said the lion got sick and after few days of illness died on Tuesday. Park management tried to hush up the matter but someone informed the media.
Besides, a deer and a cow also died due to dehydration.
