Putting a number on it: ‘Terrorism in K-P has decreased by 55%’

IGP Nasir Durrani has said terrorism-related cases have decreased in the province by 55% over the last four years. Speaking at Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday, he said significant reductions have been made in kidnapping for ransom, extortion and terrorism-related cases. Durrani said law-enforcement agencies were facing countless challenges in reducing crime because people continued to use illegal SIMs. “Suitable legislation needs to be introduced to control this problem,” he added.
